Botulinum toxin injections are the most popular injection method in aesthetic medicine. These injections are mainly marked by the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin relaxes muscles and smoothes out wrinkles. Botulinum toxin can remove mimic wrinkles between the eyebrows, around the eyes, forehead, nose and around the mouth. It is also used to treat diseases such as cervical dystonia, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), overactive bladder, chronic migraines, etc.

Botulinum toxin injection is virtually painless. The blocking effect occurs within 3-4 days and lasts from 3 to 6 months.

The operating time depends on several factors:

  • the patient's age,
  • skin condition
  • the area where the medicine is injected.

In order for the effect to be lasting and last longer, I recommend avoiding the use of a sauna, alcohol, direct sunlight, solarium for 2 weeks.

When should Botox injections not be given?

Botox injections are relatively safe. However, you should not receive this treatment if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or have neuromuscular disease, sagging eyelids (ptosis) or weak facial muscles.
